1st Day : Transfer of guests from airport to Parma. Check-in at hotel. Course on the creation of wine cocktails; welcome cocktail and dinner.
2nd Day : Meeting with the guide and departure for Vignola, plunged in a valley rich in cherry-trees. Walk through the old town centre with the majestic medieval
stronghold “Rocca dei Contrari”. Stop at the famous Pasticceria Gollini to taste the “Torta Barozzi”, created by the family a century ago and still prepared according to a traditional, secret recipe. Tasting of typical sweets. In the late morning transfer to a traditional balsamic vinegar house in Spilamberto, to visit the building and the museum; light lunch and tasting of typical products. In the early afternoon departure for Maranello and tour of the alleria Ferrari, official exhibition of the most famous sports car in the world. Following excursion to Sassuolo for a visit of a local factory specialized in creating the traditional pottery. In the late afternoon en-route stop at Modena for a guided visit of the historical centre with the Cathedral (world heritage site by UNESCO), Palazzo Ducale, Galleria Estense, Piazza Grande and the famous leaning bell tower known as the “Ghirlandina”, now symbol of the town. Dinner in a typical restaurant. Return to Parma. Overnight.
3rd Day : Breakfast and transfer to Canossa to visit the famous Rossena Castle, linked with the legend of the countess Matilde. At the end of the tour, visit of a cheese factory specialized in the production of the wellknown parmigiano (parmesan cheese) and of other typical local cheese with an explanation of the secrets of production and seasoning; tasting and light lunch. In the early afternoon visit of a winery to taste the famous Lambrusco. Dinner into a typical restaurant. Return to Parma. Overnight.
4th Day : Breakfast and transfer to a factory in Parma specialized in the production and seasoning of the famous raw ham; tasting. Following course on country-style cooking in a farm house with the creation of a typical seasonal menu. Lunch with the created menu. In the early afternoon walk through the
town centre of Parma to admire its monuments: the beautiful medieval Cathedral Square with the Vescovado and the magnificent octagonal Baptistery, the Central Garibaldi Square with Orologio Tower, Palazzo del Governatore, the 17th century town hall, the neo-classical Royal Theatre and Farnese Theatre, the monument in honour of the composer Verdi. Free time before gala dinner in Parma at Corale Verdi, very near to Ducale Garden, entertained by an opera concert with the most famous music by Verdi and other musicians. Return to the hotel. Overnight.
5th Day : Breakfast and departure for Bologna, the main town in Emilia, with its famous monuments: Piazza Maggiore with the Basilica di San Petronio and the Palazzo del Podestà, the Garisenda and Asinelli towers, the Basilica di Santo Stefano and its splendid cloister, Neptune’s Fountain and the poet Giosuè Carducci’s native house. Lunch on your own. In the early afternoon transfer to Zola Pedrosa to admire the prestigious villas and among them, the magnificent Palazzo Albergati, majestic country residence that offered hospitality to European monarches and famous people of the past and still hosts a big theatre inside, where Goldoni’s comedies and Voltaire’s tragedies were displayed. In the late afternoon en-route stop at Monteveglio, a medieval small village with its romanesque Abbey and the ruins of the castle that blocked the way to the longobard invasion. At the end of the tour, transfer to the co-operative of the wines of the Bologna Hills for a pleasant tasting of local wines. Dinner in a typical restaurant and return to the hotel in Parma. Overnight.
6th Day : Breakfast and departure for shopping at Fidenza Outlet Village. Lunch on your own in the village. Optional excursions: visit of Salsomaggiore Spa, town characterised by an unmistakable Liberty style, particularly evident in Berzieri Spa. In the early afternoon, departure for Busseto and visit of Giuseppe Verdi theatre and Verdiano Museum in Casa Barezzi; in the late afternoon transfer to Roncole Verdi and visit of the musician’s native house and of the Church San Michele Arcangelo, where he was baptized and where the organ heplayed is located. En-route stop at a factory producing the famous Culatello di Zibello to approach to the preparation and seasoning techniques; flavoured tasting. Goodbye dinner in the suggestive and romantic scenery of Felino castle, fascinating seat of Felino salami.
7th Day : Transfer to the airport and departure of guests. End of the tour.
